Russia Funding to Combat Low Life Expectancies

Russian men live to an average age of 60 years old, about 15 to 20 years younger than men in most developed countries. Their low life expectancy is due to diseases (like tuberculosis, diabetes and AIDS) along with suicide, murder, intravenous drug use, and alcoholism. The Russian government is expected to approve a five-fold increase in funding for treatments to help reduce the extent of the nation's demographic crisis. More from the BBC.
