China Expecting Increase in Births for Year of the Pig

Chinese officials are expecting a dramatic increase in the number of births in 2007 since it is a particularly auspicious Year of the Pig, known as the Year of the Golden Pig, a once every 60 year occurrence. Additionally, so many of the one-child generation have grown up and have married others from single-child families. These two can have two children and 2007 might be the year to have baby number one or two. More from Xinhua.
