With a current growth rate of 2.7%, Rwanda's population could double by the early 2030s if growth measures are not put in place. It would be great to hear things like this from other African countries with high growth rates.

I agree with Warren. I still recall hearing of Adolf Hitler’s plans for “population control” – plus the idea of the Chinese being restricted to one child per couple lead to abuses eg abortion of females with males preferred
i see where matt’s coming from, but think of what would have happened to China if it had NOT put those restrictions on its population, the pollution and poverty it faces now would have been nothing, now amagine this in an even poorer, war torn, african nation.
It’s worth noting that Jared Diamond’s book Collapse attributed the genocide in Rwanda to the country’s severe overpopulation.
Many Nations have made ugly money from that Continents rich, natural resources but too damn selfish to invest in the education of its people. Instead creating an environment so horrible and all the time sitting back & hoping that the people will self destruct. Have we lost our freaking minds? Think about it! Look back in history.
As it’s in the case of China,the number of males will be very less in comparison to females after some years and this will create a huge problem for china to cure as it will create many mental and social problems in the youth as well elders in China.For eg. children in China will become short-tempered due to unavailibilty of brother or sister .But this is also true that no one can escape in analyzing the problem that China would have faced if it has not adopted ONE CHILD POLICY..

I think this country should be supported in any way to help them recover their present situation. I have seen the movie ” The Constant Gardener ” It is a good example.
