How many ways can we define the enemies of the United States? Well, Axis of Evil, Rogue States, Outposts of Tyranny, and Axis of Terror are just some of the ways used in the past few years. Take a look at my latest article about these unfriendly countries to get a sense of the meaning behind the Axis of Evil and other like-minded modern terms in our post-Cold War era.
What do you think of these lists and terms? Are the right countries in the "Axis of Evil" or is this just good-old American imperialism? Click "comments" below to share your thoughts!

“You reap what you sow”
If most Americans were educated enough about American imperialistic foreign policy since the begining of the 20th century, we would be applying all those very negative terms to ourselves in order to have the right to use them on others.
Miguel, if you don’t like American policy, LEAVE!! If you had any BRAINS, you would realize that America is the most altruistic nation in the history of CIVILIZATION. Just get your backside out of this nation as fast as you can!!!
Dear Joe:
There are some mistaken Americans who honestly believe in “America Right or Wrong”.
There are also many American true patriots who believe in trying to fix whatever is wrong with the country, society and culture they love, for nothing is perfect–if you can convince the KATRINA destitutes otherwise, I bow to you.
By the way, it is rather ignorant and biggotted of you to asume that I am a foreigner just because my name is spanish. How would you feel if I were to tell you to go back to Italy or wherever the hell your family name comes from, you effing, racist swine?
Peace, peace
While one can question actions in the past its hard to deny that North Korea is ruled by an evil person and Iran is not very nice as the run head first for aggresive weaponry.
Please Catholicgauze, explain to me how much more “morally” superior the Bush cabal and those who approve of them are to those evil people in N.Korea & Iran, when in our name they decided to invade, occupy and ultimately be responsible for the death of over 100,000 civilians in Iraq, on the blatantly false pretext that the murderous puppet we had aided and provided with WMDs for decades, was involved with al-qaida and 911?
Whoa, settle down for a second. Has Bush made mistakes- yes. I won’t deny that.
But one must see the difference between Bush and a regime that kills opponents and starves its own people (North Korea). One must also see the difference between Bush and a regime (Iran) which forces religious minorities to wear badges like the Nazis did and gleefully plans the destruction of an entire race of people. One must finally see that those who killed civilians in Iraq (42,000-some according to Iraq Body Count.org) are not those who liberated the country from a brutal minority but al Qaeda in Iraq terrorists.
How many civilians died under Saddam? It has been estimated that 300,000 died during his tenure (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3253783.stm) and 30,000 of those in one year (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4561872.stm).
War is horrible. One of the worse things about war is that it is sometimes necessary to save lives.
i don’t think what you are arguing is meaningful.in world politics,no right or wrong.the stronger makes the rules.whatever america did is for america’s interests,so other contry is.
