The New York Times reports that Salinas, California (located in the greater San Jose region) is the least affordable place the live in the United States. In fact, California is home to the top eleven least-affordable places to live! Other non-affordable places are #2 Santa Cruz-Watsonville and #3 Santa Rosa-Petaluma.
