The United States Geological Survey has appointed Kenneth (Bruce) Jones as the new chief scientist for Geography. Jones holds a B.S. in biology from Jacksonville (FL) University, a M.S. in ecology from New Mexico State University, and a Ph.D. in environmental biology from the University of Nevada. According to the USGS news release, "Jones is known for his science leadership in the areas of remote sensing, landscape ecology, biogeography, and geographic information systems." He moves to the USGS from the EPA.

I have a degree in geography. Maybe I can apply for a biologist position.
Yea, only a Geography major truly understands spatial relationships, how humans interact with the environment, how the environment impacts humans, how to read a map, how to “do GIS”, etc, etc. Write your congressperson now! Start the boycott! Fill out that blog! Fight the power!
How bad could it be? The person in charge of all Department of Interior geographic data has a degree in education and one in outdoor recreation.
