The World Meteorological Organization has proclaimed that the names Dennis, Katrina, Rita, Stan, and Wilma will not be used on future lists of tropical storm and hurricane names.
The five powerful hurricanes, which struck the United States in 2005, were significant enough that their names have been retired by the WMO, and are thus added to the list of retired storm names which will not be used again. For 2011, the names Dennis, Katrina, Rita, Stan and Wilma have been replaced with Don, Katia, Rina, Sean and Whitney, respectively. Four names have been retired due to storms in 1955, 1995, 2004 but 2005 is a record with five retired storm names. What do you think about this retirement or about the new names? Four names have been retired due to storms in 1955, 1995, 2004, and now 2005.
…but five were retired in 2005 (a new record).
Yes I think these names should be retired from by the WMO. These names will be remembered for a long time when refered to by terrible storms.
it is an appreciative step to retired the names because in future a natural process of these storm will be continue for discriminate these storms is is necessary to tetired the old names.
