Belarus Bans Foreign Models

Tuesday December 20, 2005
A law that went into effect last April in Belarus requires that, "Models who appear in public advertisements - whether on billboards, on television, in newspapers or magazines - must now be Belarussian." Belarus President Aleksandr G. Lukashenko was tired of seeing foreign models on billboards in his country. Read more about this law imposed in the New York Times.
