Longer Daylight Saving Time Closer to Reality

By , About.com GuideJuly 24, 2005

Follow me on:

U.S. Senate and House negotiators approved extending Daylight Saving Time by four weeks, should the energy bill that the extension is part of pass. The energy bill would change Daylight Saving Time to begin on second Sunday of March and end on the first Sunday of November. This settlement is four weeks shorter than the initial recommendation made by the House Energy and Commerce Committee in April but makes DST four weeks longer than it is now, from the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October.
