Maine to Move to Atlantic Time?

A proposal to move Maine into the Atlantic Time Zone (one hour ahead of Eastern Time) has unanimously passed the state's State and Local Government Committee. The bill will now move to the state legislature and then would be sent to voters in 2006. The move is designed to provide more light in the evening for the state and to better collaborate with Canada's Maritime provinces. Some are not happy with the plan.
