The United States House Energy and Commerce Committee voted yesterday to approve an amendment to a broad energy bill to extend Daylight Saving Time in the United States by two months! Under the move, Daylight Saving Time would begin the first Sunday in March and last until the last Sunday in November. The move is be expected to save 10,000 barrels of oil each day due to reduced use of power by businesses during daylight hours. This amendment still needs to be approved by other entities before it becomes law.
