Italy to Name Peak for Pope John Paul II

On Pope John Paul II's birthday on May 18, a 7,900 foot (2424 m) peak in Italy's Gran Sasso, the highest mountain range in the Apennines, will be named for the Pope. The Pope is known to have enjoyed hiking in the Gran Sasso in the past.
