Detroit Population Lowest Since 1920

Detroit's estimated population dropped to 899,387, the lowest since 1920. Estimates from the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments showed that the city lost 51,883 people (5.5 percent) since the 2000 Census, which was the first in some time when the city's population was below 1 million.
