A United Nations panel delegated with reforming the world body has developed two proposals to enlarge the Security Council to 24 member states. The Security Council currently consists of 5 permanent and 10 non-permanent members. One proposal increases the Council by 6 permanent members without veto power and 3 new non-permanent members. The second proposal would add 8 quasi-permanent member seats and one non-permanent member.
