Eighteen states have a different number of Electoral College seats in 2004 than in 2000. Eight states gained seats: Arizona, Florida, Georgia and Texas each gained two votes while California, Colorado, Nevada and North Carolina each gained one seat. Ten states lost seats: New York and Pennsylvania each lost two seats while Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma and Wisconsin each lost one vote.
