A two-page article titled "Mapping Opportunities" in the January 22, 2004 issue of Nature discusses the advances in geotechnology and GIS along with the job opportunities that go along with the technology. The Association of American Geographers is touting the article as one that will, "will attract many new students to geography programs." The article also kindly points out that the U.S. Department of Labor "identified geotechnology as one of the three most important emerging and evolving fields, along with biotechnology and nanotechnology." The article itself is available online at the AAG site.
