Controversy Over China's Plans to Build Dams

With China's industrial growth comes their need for more electricity. To help solve this problem, China has begun plans to build 13 hydroelectric dams on the Nu River. However, Burma and Thailand, who are downstream from the proposed dams, believe the dams will have a significant negative impact on the environment in their countries.
