Calls for British Summer Time Year-Round

By , About.com GuideNovember 26, 2003

Follow me on:

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) wants to keep British Summer Time (BST) in winter and change to "double summertime" between March and October to prevent 450 deaths and serious injuries that occur during winter. They claim that a change to Daylight Saving Time year-round (as is done in Russia) will improve safety.

I totally agree. crime will also come down. I believe that criminals will think twice before committing crime in broad daylight, although daylight will not stop anyone determined to do what they want. My main point is if we keep it all year round, we will save energy,as we will not have to keep lights on from so early in the afternoon.
