100 Most Endangered Sites

Friday September 26, 2003
The World Monuments Fund has released their list of the 100 Most Endangered Sites worldwide. The WMF is the "foremost private, non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of historic art and architecture worldwide through fieldwork, advocacy, grantmaking, education, and training." This is an interesting list of cultural sites in crisis and includes such locales as Ernest Shackleton's hut in Antarctica and the Great Wall of China. Of the 100 sites, the United States and Mexico are home to six each.
