Privatizing Water in Ghana

Water is a very precious commodity. The very first civilizations in history knew of water's importance and positioned their settlements near it. Now, in Ghana, there is serious discussion about privitizing the water supply because the current system is old and inadequate. The reason to privatize is to use private money to upgrade the system. However, many people feel the cost to users in the rural areas will make water unaffordable, thus causing a larger problem than already exists.
