According to an article on nationalgeographic.com, there are 7.3 million people worldwide whose assets (excluding their home) are valued at US $1 million or more. 2.6 million of these people live in Europe, 2.2 million in North America (29%), 1.8 million in Asia-Pacific, 300,000 in Latin America, 300,000 in the Middle East, and 100,000 in Africa.
